I agree with your reader Sydney about the high priced “smart houses, this is just like having one of those without the expense. Not to mention if it is transferrable and you can take it to your next home and re-install it so it is like you have a smart house anywhere you go. A security system that allows you to control the temperature in the house, what will they think of next? I understand the lights being controlled because that would be part of the security but the temperature? This is an amazing system. I love the idea of being able to control the things going on in the home while you are away. Like you mentioned in the article it gives the burglars the idea that someone is there which according to police, is a good idea. Does this system come with the monitoring capabilities that you can see what it going on in the house?
This Pulse system seems to have a lot of features. I wonder if the Pulse system represents the premium and highest priced version of the ADT home security system. I know an elderly person who uses a dedicated emergency alert system. It is one of those you wear around your neck. This makes me think about perhaps getting an ADT Pulse system for my mother in the near future, even though she is still quite capable of caring for herself.
Being able to turn this alarm on and off from your computer or smart phone is awesome. Like you said this takes the stress of anyone else knowing what your code is off of your mind. And the cameras in your house so that you can see what is going on is the best idea yet, you can use this for watching a babysitter or your kids friends when you are not in the house.
I love the idea of having a security system that does all this and I really like the idea that I can pick and choose whatever I want on it. My only concern is the key fobs that you can use to turn the system on and off from outside. If you lose them, I guess it is like that garage door opener, anyone can get in your house by disarming the system.
This system seems to be packaged to be very simple to assemble besides the fact that the ADT technicians apparently do the installation. I think ADT has evolved their product over the years and now, they have meshed all the features you would want in a home security system and packaged it at a very reasonable price. And with their promotional offers such as the Zero equipment costs and the $99 installation fee, it becomes very persuasive to buy.

I was noticing in the fine print at the top it talks about Two-way voice, can you explain what that is exactly? Does this system also come with an intercom? Among everything else if this system does come with an intercom I am most definitely getting one as soon as I financially can. Two-way voice is only with the monitoring center, so if your alarm was to trigger and you had the two-way voice option you would be able to communicate directly with the monitoring center. Then the dispatcher can relay information to the authorities. This can be helpful in many ways, for example if you are injured you can let the dispatcher know what the problem is and they could relay that information to the ambulance or if their was an intruder or even a home invasion the dispatcher could be listening in and relaying that information to the police.
Now that the holidays are officially over, I hope everyone made it through without incident during the most perilous time of the year for burglaries. But let us not forget, that burglars don’t stop wanting to acquire loot just because the holiday season ends. They are well aware that people are in possession of brand new products and they are biding their time for the right opportunity to score any expensive items. From what limited knowledge I have about Z-wave technology, it is used by ADT security systems to communicate various types of wireless devices. If the home security monitor can communicate with common mobile devices such as your smart phone using an app, it brings up the obvious security questions such as how secure are they. Any application can be hacked in a variety of ways. And it isn’t always the system’s fault. Often, people get hacked because they leave themselves open to security breeches.
ADT pulse is the ultimate home security system, it does everything that you could ever want your security system to do except actually cuff the bad guys. Pulse was a great name for it because it is the pulse of the house and it knows when something isn’t right. It is a portable smart house that you can uninstall and reinstall at what ever house you are living in.
ADT you have out done yourself this time. I would like to meet the team of people that came up with this idea. It is absolutely amazing that you can pick and choose what you want on your system. You can get all the bells and whistles or you can have your basic security system. I myself will go with the bells and whistles, the more protection the better.

A security system that can be ran from your smart phone is amazing, the features that you can get are unbeatable. I noticed on another blog that medical monitoring and flood detection is also a feature that ADT offers on some of their systems are these offered on the Pulse system, if they are I am sold and will be having one installed immediately. If not I am still sold on it.

I watched a video of a customer demonstrating the ADT Pulse system. Assuming he is correct, I like the many ways you can control the system. He said you can do it from the online portal as well as the i-phone application. He also mentioned that the system comes with a touch screen keypad like device, like the kind I have seen on more expensive system which often are built into newly constructed houses. I love being at the helm of a command center and this would give me that feel.
